We are excited to announce the availability of 2014 imagery in our viewers. This includes both aerial and oblique imagery from Pictometry. Please reference this previous post to learn how to access oblique imagery.
Most urban areas have 3” resolution while rural areas have 9” (check out this link to observe how resolution makes a difference). For comparison, our 2009 ortho-imagery resolution was a mix of 6” and 12”.
ArcGIS Desktop users within the county are making use of a mosaic dataset for 2014 aerials. There is a layer file for quick access S:\layers_yorkcounty\Orthophotography available for staff.
Dispatchers are referencing both Pictometry obliques and aerials for police, fire and medical (911) calls within the New World CAD software.
There is another imagery acquisition scheduled for 2016 that will include obliques and aerials (at 9” only).
